That's not all, though, with the new Apple Watch Series 7 also making it is launching together with a brand-new iPad and also a big refresh for the iPad mini line. So it had not been an Apple occasion to knock your socks off; however, there's still plenty to get your teeth into.
The iPhone 13 and iPhone 13 mini:
The new versions of Apple iPhone 13 were a certificate to be revealed, and Apple did too. The new "13" range follows directly on the iPhone 12, and even the Mini stays. Initially, glimpsing the iPhone 13 collection doesn't seem like a noticeable change.
The notch could be fractionally smaller in size; however, you're still looking at a dual camera phone with those familiar chiseled jaws. The main sensor maintains the same resolution, 12MP. However, the dimension of the tiny photo sites grows from 1.4 microns to 1.7 microns.
Add that to an ultra-wide f / 1.6 aperture lens and you've got the most light-sensitive electronic camera of any iPhone today. The iPhone 13 and Apple iPhone 13 mini also get the sensor unit shift stabilization seen on the Apple iPhone 12 Pro Max.
Apple is playing hard with night photography, and it will also combine the location of the Apple phone as the most effective phone series for video clips. The big video cameras on these phones still have a 12MP sensor and an f / 2.4 lens.
The Apple iPhone 13 has a chance of winning the best-in-class title for its main camera, but the ultra-wide one possibly won't. Other gear tweaks are common annual updates - the iPhone 13 goes from an A14 Bionic CPU to an A15 Bionic.
Apple simply compared it to non-specific "rivals," in other words Android phones, stating that the CPU is 50 percent faster and the GPU roughly 30 percent faster.
Honest Opinion iPhone 13
But if this were a mind-boggling improvement over the iPhone 12, Apple would probably give us the generational improvement figures rather than cast a shadow. However, the A15 Bionic has some efficiency improvements, thanks to a jump to a 5nm manufacturing process.
It says the iPhone 13 mini should last 1.5 hours longer than the iPhone 12 mini, a boost it badly needs. And the iPhone 13 has a 2.5 hour battery life longer from a charge, although we don't know specifically what these hours entail. Hopefully you're not streaming Apple Music with the screen off.
Apple says the batteries are bigger in this generation too, but no details yet. The OLED displays on the iPhone 13 and 13 mini still have a maximum brightness rating of 1200 nits, but the soft limit for general use has been increased from ~ 625 nits to 800 nits. As a result, the screen will appear brighter, even if the panels have the same actual maximum brightness as last year.
The iPhone 13 starts at ₤ 779, while the iPhone 13 mini starts at ₤ 679 in the UK with pre-orders starting Friday 17 September. Meanwhile, iOS 15 will be available as a free update starting Monday, September 20.
